Good, but the hat that starts at 1:13 needs reverb :)

Awesome, but needs compression :)

Onefin responds:

How so? Compression on the master? Compression on a certain instrument? Extremely compressed or loosly compressed? Really high ratio or really low ratio? :)

Awesome! While I feel confident in my mixing skills, and this could use some of that, it isn't that bad. Much better then my music, and way more likely to get into the NGADM. :)

Onefin responds:

Thanks for the support! Your kind words are much appreciated! And yeah, I really want to make it into NGADM. I really hope it'll happen!

As for mixing, that is one thing that I have no idea how to do. For my mixing process, I just went in, changed db levels, and tried my best to EQ, hoping that it'll sound OK. For mastering I just amped the mid range because I really know nothing else of mastering either. If you think you're better at mixing (which you probably are, seeing as I absolutely suck), would you mind teaching me a thing or two? Thanks! :D

I like your music, scouted :)

Fuliren responds:

Thank You so much!

This song and My first one was just a joke really. But Unsung Heroes was a serious song :)

I love this! Much better then the last track I reviewed, and certainly better then my music. I will try my best with the review though :)

The things that i particularly liked were the way you used the vocals, and the synths sound really nice. Normally i would say that your lower end needs some stuff, since your kick is the main thing that happens down there, but your track might sound worse with it for the feel you are going for. Overall, i am sorry that I don't have a lot to add, but this isn't my usual cup of tea.

My review for review review :) This will contain many suggestions based on my flawed subjecive opinions, and are not meant to be followed exactly, but are my way to communicate what i think the track needs.

This is structured just like a regular EDM track, but the most striking feature of this is how it feature ABSOLUTELY NO DRUMS/PERCUSSION. Seriously, you need that. Also, this is very over compressed. Like in the piano solo, its fine to let that be more quiet then the drop, but your compression can very clearly be heard all throughout your song. Reduce that ratio and increase the threshold is what i have to say about that.

And the lead at the beginning is very jarring. Perhaps some bass? Or some drums? or less compression? Really, all these things will make your music sound better.

And for the positive feedback: I really like both the arrangement of this track and the actual melodies and harmonies. You did really well with that music theory, but perhaps you need to make it should less like a regular old edm track, because it follows that structure a little too perfectly. The sounds you used were not bad, they defiantly could be improved, but it isn't the thing you need to work on.

Hopefully that helped,
Grandzam

T7ven responds:

There's an FPC 2 kick at the drops, and I have the demo of FL Studio, so I can't take my time. It sucks.

I don't usually listen to stuff like this, so take my review with a grain of salt:

I kind of liked it, but it is a little bit repetitive. I think in this regard, another drug pattern would serve nicely. Also, another instrument or two coming in would be nice.

The electric guitar plays the something over and over again, maybe have it do something else, like a solo at some point? Overall I like this, and as a loop, it is fine without these suggestions, but if you don't intend on it looping, perhaps you need your outro to be shorter. the climax is at about 1:27, so that might need to be extended.

Sorry if this wasn't helpful, but hopefully more helpful then the guy who put just "Good". This is my perspective from an edm producer, so if you follow my suggestions exactly, you might be shooting yourself in the foot.

Tremulos responds:

Thanks so much for the review! You don't often see a review like this these days, and I always appreciate them. You make a lot of valid points, and if I do end up developing this into a song, I'll keep them in mind, though to be honest I almost never revisit old projects to develop them further.

The lack of drum variety is just plain laziness on my part, since I usually enjoy programming the shit out of my drum patterns, but the repetitiveness on the guitars is just because I'm still learning guitar and can almost never record anything I would consider usable...

Anyways thanks again for the review, I really do appreciate it!

Not too bad, but a little minimal for my taste.

I like this. I wish I could make basses like that :L

WarmanSteve responds:

Thanks! You should check out Massive if you haven't already. Just slap LFO's on everything and you're golden :P
